October officially marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). DVAM was created to connect advocates, individuals and communities across the nation who are working to end violence.

What is Domestic Violence? Domestic violence, also known as Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a pattern of coercive behaviors in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner.

Building Futures provides a range of services for survivors of domestic violence. If you don’t feel safe, call us 24/7. Building Futures’ 24-hour crisis line: 1-866-292-9688 or 1-866-A-WAY-OUT.

Follow us all month long for prevention resources, information centered on building healthy relationships, statistics about domestic violence (DV) and more.
