Imagine starting a new home without a broom, bedding, or kitchen basics?
Building Futures is proud to be housing more families than ever before! As they rebuild after homelessness and domestic violence, most will be moving to their new homes with only a few personal items. Building Futures and our community are partnering to provide Move-In Kits for newly housed individuals and families. What a way to show your neighbors you care!
The Move-In Kit campaign focuses on the things a household cannot do without: home essentials totaling $360. Every penny raised purchases and provides these much-needed items. Donors can cover all or part of a Move-In Kit. Together, we can help more families!
♥ ONLINE CAMPAIGN
By making an online donation, you can “shop” for a newly housed family with our housewarming “gift registry.” We use the money donated to buy the most-needed items and fill in the gaps for our families. We aim to provide all of the necessary items someone would need for the first month of housing.
- Fund an entire kit—biggest impact: $360
- Bedding for little ones’ sweet dreams: $200
- Stock a kitchen with the basics: $100
- Bath time—to stay clean and cozy: $45
- Gift cards are flexible and amazing for the family: $25

Want to get together and volunteer with your co-workers, church, school, friends, family, or group? Want help to host your own move-in kit drive? Email inkind@bfwc.org to find out what you need to create a move-in kit campaign!
♥ GIFT CARDS
Gift cards are amazing, allowing the family the flexibility to choose what they need most and fulfill the basic housing needs. Please donate gift cards in increments of $25 so that they can be evenly distributed. Especially needed are gifts cards from Amazon, Walmart, and DollarTree.
Deliveries: Please email give@bfwc.org to schedule a drop-off appointment at 1840 Fairway Dr., San Leandro, CA. Appointments are available on select weekdays (typically Mondays and Wednesdays) between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please include your preferred date and time. If shipping items directly from an online retailer, please select delivery during business hours. For everyone’s safety, please do not leave donations outside after hours, as unattended items cannot be accepted. Thank you for supporting the families and individuals we serve!
